High-speed boat event poses threat to Hector’s dolphins

Photo: Jon BucklePhoto: Jon BuckleA high-speed international boating event is being planned to take place in Lyttelton Harbour next January, but Lyttelton Harbour is also home to Hector’s dolphins. This event could cause catastrophic damage to the endangered species. Experts are working on a plan to reduce and mitigate harm to the dolphins while still allowing the event to take place.
